Penrhyn Fans Applauded

November 2nd, 2008

This e-mail was sent to us on Sunday from a TNS official:

“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate your wonderful fans who provided a great atmosphere at Park Hall on Saturday afternoon. I am one of the stewards who was positioned at the tunnel area and enjoyed a lot of light hearted banter with your fans (who did not have to get tanked up and invade the pitch to show they were enjoying themselves unlike another club!).
The incident which resulted in the farcical sending off? I totally agree with the comments of your club chairman and his good wife (who I enjoyed a good natter with during the game) that the referee was hell bent on sending off one of your lads (come what may!) and yes, he did ruin a potentially good game, especially as your lads had just scared the pants off the TNS lads by pulling a goal back!
Even at 6-1 down your superb supporters were singing “6-1 down and we don’t care!” which rapidly changed to 7-1 down and we don’t care a few minutes later!!! Your supporters are a credit to your club and the Cymru Alliance league and I, for one, would welcome you all back anytime!
Good luck for the season and I hope you get promotion in the near future so you can all visit again and show our supporters how to enjoy and urge on our team, which really has to be soul destroying for our hard working players and officials!”

Gresford Athletic away next week!!!!!!!!
